Parkour (free running) is definitely gaining popularity, ever since the opening scene of Casino Royale the building-hopping sport has been showing up more in games, movies and advertisements. I don't know how I missed the announcement for Mirror's Edge, but I just picked up the latest issue of Play Magazine and it has a huge feature article on it. Mirror's Edge looks to be a fusion of first-person action adventure combined with Assassin's Creed free running in a modern setting. I'm going to be keeping an eye on this one, mostly because I just can't get over how beautiful the city itself is, and secondly because the developer hopes to redefine what "first-person" feels like.
