Vampire hunting stealth action on the Playstation 3, Vampire Rain Altered Species, an upgrade from the original Xbox 360 release comes to us from Ignition Entertainment.

Nightwalkers, the label for these vampiric enemies, have gotten out of hand and the Nightwalker Elimination Squad has been formed by the American Information Bureau. You play as John Lloyd, a member of this black-ops team, trying to find the advance team and deal with these menaces.

Graphics
The dark rain-laden environments look great. There are just enough bloody areas throughout to give you that creepy but not cheesy horror flick feel. The character models could have used more work though.

Sound
The music fits the creepy mood perfectly and kudos to the rain and environment sounds as well. Voices were a tad goofy for this kind of game.

Gameplay
Stealth, this is all about stealth. You pretty much can not go guns-blazing at any point in this title. Your enemies are so far beyond your own power level that avoidance is a must at all times. This gives the game an incredibly high challenge level and also a strategy aspect to determine the best way to get to where you need to with minimal enemy contact.

Overall
This is a very specialized game in terms of taste. Many people may enjoy stealth games, but Vampire Rain Altered Species is a real test of how well you can stay hidden and make silent kills when you need to. Only those looking for a steep challenge need apply here.
