Warriors Orochi 2 Review

Warriors Orochi 2

The crossover of the Three Kingdoms and Feudal Japan has returned for a sequel. Orochi has returned and must be stopped, or in some scenarios, helped in Warriors Orochi 2 for Xbox 360..

The Wu, Wei, and Shu Kingdoms of China along with the feudal factions of Japan have come together with various figures from Asian literature in this collection. The Musou series has been quite popular and seen many releases worldwide. Various scenarios will engage you as you assume a trio of legends fighting amongst vast armies in each battle.

Graphics
I have to say that I love the CG artwork, I could stare at the character select screens all day. The in-game graphics may not blow you away in terms of detail, but the amount of soldiers on the field will.

Sound
Voices are overacted and the battle sounds could have used more variety.

Gameplay
First off, Koei has promised a patch to resolve some of the slowdown issues you might see on the larger fields of play. There are over 90 characters to choose from and you can swap between a team of three on the fly during battle. The amount of character and weapon customization in this title is pretty heavy, so you will certainly be spending some time here outside of pummeling the masses.

Overall
If you have played the original Warriors Orochi to death, you may want to hold off on this release. However, anyone new to the series or new to the Orochi line should give this a try, the stories are interesting fiction and the battle can provide incredible stress relief.
