I yearned to enjoy this game, I did.


Rondo of Swords
is another portable SRPG that looks great on paper. The interesting methods of buying and selling items through sending people on errands in hopes they bring back what you want sounded fun and original. The movement path battle system, of where you drag your unit on a movement path and attack every enemy and possibly get buffed by your allies, also seemed like a wild and innovative way of combat. However, upon playing, I was sorely letdown. I have no issues with the difficulty of the game, but the movement combat just does not work well in this fashion. It feels very awkward to fight by keeping your units spread out from each other as much as possible. On a side note, I am not one to say that graphics are the primary element of a game, but the interface looks like a high school pascal project from 1997.
