Why you ought to love the HD-DVD-Player...

360's HD-Player

"While it is unfortunate that HD DVD was discontinued, there is still enjoyment to be had from your Xbox 360 HD DVD Player. You can take this as an opportunity to build out your movie collection! There are around 500 HD DVD movies to choose from and many at great deals, so there is a fair amount of content for HD DVD on the market. It also is a terrific DVD player and it allows you to have game discs and movie discs, whether HD DVD or DVD, within the console at one time. The HD DVD player also adds two additional USB ports to your console." Said Microsoft Game Studio's Coporate Vice President Shane Kim in an inverview with GameDaily.

Yeah, all right. While I'm sorting my Betamax-Collection, and remove the dust from my 200 Laser-Disc-Collector's-Edtions, I'll do Microsoft a great favour and take all the HD-DVD's from the shelves, because I'm sure... they will be worth a lot - in a very close Future, probably tomorrow.

But seriously, who am I kidding? We all got Mr Kim's message: The XBOX 360 needs two disc-drives, because he's too lazy to put the disc back in its box. Or maybe, in his next statement he claims that the future is downloadable content.. No changing disc any more! And HD.. and not HD in the box, at once. Wow, inventions.

Sounds like last words before death...

Cheap HD collection

Even if you build a dirt cheap HD-DVD collection, have fun finding a replacement when your HD-DVD drive wears out.

In the future I propose all format wars be fought by giant robot gladiators.
